07/04/2009	Gas City	The Kiwanis Club of Gas City will be having its 2009 Fourth of July Parade on Saturday, July 4th starting at 1pm. The theme is "Locally Owned and Operated-God Bless the USA". Parade participants will need to check in at the Kmart parking lot beginning at 11:30am. Kiwanis members will be assigning unit numbers-procession order lineup for the parade. The parade will start at 1pm routing all participants and units west on Main Street concluding at Broadway Street turning right (north) for pickup at RJ Baskett Middle School.

07/04/2009	Blackford County	Blackford County July 4th 2009! Fireworks at Dark (10:00 pm) FREE!!!! Bring the family and spend the day at Wildwood Acres Campground, 0520 W. 300 N, Hartford City, IN. There will be musical entertainment from 1pm to 10pm including bluegrass, country and gospel music and karaoke. There will be a 4th of July Parade at 3:45pm at the Volleyball Court. Parade participants are still needed! Other activites during the day include games, crafts, flea market and rummage, bingo, dunk tank, Bar-B-Q wagon and other food vendors.

07/06/2009	Marion	A grassroots effort to clean up Marion will be taking place July 6th through the 11th. Volunteers will be picking up trash (bring your own trash bags), mowing abandoned yards, weeding yards, and other cleanup activities.

07/07/2009	Marion	North-East Church of God, 1007 East Bradford St, Marion, has established a new ministry on Tuesday, July 7th from 7pm to 8pm at the church. This ministry is for any individual who has had or is considering joint replacement surgery. This ministry is to establish a support group and discussion centering around the surgery. A professional guest speaker will be present to bring information and address concerns.

07/08/2009	Marion, IN -> Chigaco, IL	Chicago Cubs vs. Atlanta Braves If this is your first time attending a Cubs Game with us, welcome aboard…we hope you enjoy the game and the Y experience with your Y coach crew, Paul Ferguson ad our program director. The ticket you purchase will remain in the Y safe until the morning we depart. We will give you the tickets when you board the bus. Wednesday, July 8^th 2009. $70 per ticket. Departure time is 7am SHARP. Bring a cooler and your supplies for the day. No alcohol on the bus. We will stop for breakfast (individual cost). We will also stop on the way back. 07/10/2009	Marion	The North-East Church of God is having its 3rd Annual Veteran's and Families Appreciation Celebration on Friday, July 10th. The events are: fellowship time with snacks and desserts from 6pm to 7pm, and TV Personality Andrew Phipps speaking on Faith, Family and Freedom along with special music from guest singer Cammie Wike from 7pm to 8pm. All of Grant County is invited to come and reflect our love and appreciation to those who have served our Country and their families.

07/11/2009	Rigdon	The Ridgon Lion's Club will be having an ice cream social at the Lion's Club building in Rigdon, located 13 miles south of Marion on SR 37, on Saturday, July 11th from 4pm to 7:30pm. Come enjoy homemade ice cream, sloppy joes, coney dogs, hot dogs, dessert and drinks. Cost is a freewill donation. Everyone is welcome!

07/11/2009	Marion	East Marion Reunion Weekend! Friday, July 10th from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday, July 11th from 8am to 8pm at 2nd and Sweetser Street in Marion (near Ballard Soccer Field). 07/12/2009	Marion	The North-East Church of God, 1007 East Bradford Street, Marion, will be having Vacation Bible School beginning Sunday, July 12th from 6pm to 8pm and will be continuing each evening through Thursday, July 16th. The program is for all children 4 yrs old through 5th grade. The theme this year is Crocodile Dock with wild animals everywhere. There will be t-shirts, games, snacks, crafts and exciting Bible Stories for all ages. A special presentation of a Police Dog will be in action along with the Fire Station #4 firemen. 07/14/2009	Gas City	The Laugh Out Loud Camp will be held on Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Hontz Hall in the Gas City Park. There is NO FEE to attend this camp. The camp is to benefit chronically ill children from age 5 to 15 years who reside or attend school in Grant County. Campers must have mobility, whether by walking themselves, wheel chair or walkers. One parent must be in attendance with camper. Applications are available at the STAR Financial Bank and VIA Credit Union offices in Gas City. Applications must be filled out in full and postmarked by Monday, June 15th. This year 20 campers will be accepted. Hold Harmless Agreement must also be signed by parents for campers to attend camp. Background checks will also be run through the police department.
